Easter Sunday – More Than Bunnies Running Through The Park
Easter bunnies running in the park. Is that all there is to Easter?
Perhaps you have been asking this question. Maybe Easter is a far-off memory from your childhood with happy memories of Easter baskets and going to church. Perhaps Easter is a far-off concept that you really don’t understand. What’s the big deal after all?
If you are asking questions like the above or others like them, you have come to the right place. Those of us at Landing Place Church would like this Easter to be the most meaningful Easter that you and your family have ever celebrated.
What Is Easter?
What is Easter about anyway? Those who followed Jesus when he walked on this earth did NOT believe that Jesus would rise from the dead. The testimony of some female followers of Jesus barely convinced the future leaders of the church to go check out the empty grave. Note: females were not allowed to give testimony in court because they were not considered reliable. Yet Jesus chooses them.
Christians believe that Easter is the celebration of Jesus Christ’s resurrection from the dead, which is the cornerstone of our faith. We believe that Jesus, the Son of God, was crucified, died, and was buried, but on the third day, He rose again, conquering sin and death. This event, foretold in Scripture, confirms Jesus’ divinity and the promise of eternal life for those who believe in Him. Easter signifies hope, redemption, and the victory of life over death, emphasizing God’s boundless love and the power of His grace to bring reconciliation between humanity and Himself.
This Easter, prepare to be surprised. Jesus loves you more than you can imagine. Jesus will show you that he is much more than a great teacher, Jesus is the Son of God, the second person of the Trinity, God Almighty.
Jesus has spent the last two thousand years surprising the skeptic and the bored alike.
How Can I Get To Know Jesus?

- Start with the verse of the day (found under ‘more’).
