Elder Affirmation Process
We are deeply grateful for the Elders who faithfully serve at Landing Place Church. While they contribute in many ways, their primary responsibilities include:
* Shepherding and caring for the church family
* Providing spiritual guidance, oversight, and support to the Lead Pastor
* Developing theological position papers for clarity and unity
* Ensuring doctrinal accountability for the Lead Pastor and ministry teams, while offering pastoral support
Scripture outlines both the role and qualifications of local church Elders (Acts 20:28; 1 Timothy 3:1–7; Titus 1:5–9), and these passages guide our process.
Each year, our church family has the opportunity to affirm new Elder candidates and reaffirm those currently serving. In the spirit of transparency and accountability, anyone in our congregation who has a concern regarding a candidate may submit that concern in writing via the link below so it can be addressed in a biblical and timely manner.
After a 30-day period which will begin December 14, 2025 and end January 13, 2026, continuing and oncoming Elders will be affirmed and installed to serve.

Oncoming Elders
Joe Hamrick
Joe Hamrick has been gratefully and joyfully married to Sherry for 35 years – totally dependent on God’s love, faithfulness and partnership in his marriage, family life and spiritual growth. He and Sherry have four adult daughters, one now with Jesus. Joe is a retired Aerospace Engineer of 39 years and is currently working at Community Uplift Partnership (CUP).
Joe and Sherry have attended LPC since the Fall of 2020 and have served in many different small groups, outreaches and ministries. Joe’s desire is to serve faithfully, lead with humility and help people to know, imitate and grow in intimacy with Jesus. He is passionate about building relationships through small groups and recognizes and loves to teach and demonstrate the awesome power of prayer, Scripture and God’s divine Presence in one’s daily life.
In his free time, Joe enjoys reading, cycling, hiking and spending time with family and building godly and spiritual relationships with other men.
Reid Dewalt
Reid and his family—his wife, Brenda, and their three children, Rachel, Seriah, and Max—have attended Landing Place Church (LPC) since its earliest days. During this time, he has served in multiple roles and currently leads a long-standing men’s bible study group. One of his key passions is guiding people toward a deeper understanding of the scriptures and the vital role of the Word in daily life.
