Meaningful Family Activities for Easter

Gabrielle Christie   -

Easter is more than just a service—it’s the foundation of our faith and a time for joyful celebration with loved ones. As this special season approaches, we invite you to create lasting memories with your family through these meaningful, faith-filled activities. Whether through reflection, worship, or hands-on experiences, these ideas will help prepare your hearts for Easter in a deeper, more intentional way.

Read the Easter Story

You can read the full story from the plot to kill Jesus to the resurrection (Luke 22- Luke 24) or read the resurrection (Luke 24) as a family and discuss its meaning and value to our faith.

Listen to Worship Music

As we get ready for Easter Service at LPC, we have created a playlist on Spotify for your family to listen to in the car and in your home.

Do a Service Project

We believe it’s important to be generous in our time and serve one another. A great place to serve with your family from ages 12 and up is at Denver Rescue Mission: The Crossing where you can serve a meal to their residents. Here is the link to sign up your family: Serve a Meal

Create a Resurrection Garden

This is a meaningful Easter craft that shows a visual representation of Jesus’ resurrection.

  1. Prepare the Base: Fill the shallow dish or planter with potting soil, leaving space for the tomb.
  2. Create the Tomb: Lay the small terra cotta pot on its side, slightly buried in the soil to resemble the empty tomb. Place a large stone next to the opening (this will represent the stone that was rolled away).
  3. Plant the Grass or Moss: Sprinkle grass seeds or lay moss around the tomb area. If using grass seeds, lightly cover them with soil.
  4. Add Rocks and Decorations: Arrange small rocks and pebbles to create a garden path or natural look. You can also add small flowers or succulents for extra beauty.
  5. Make the Cross: Take two small sticks and tie them together with twine to form a cross. Place the cross behind the tomb in the soil.
  6. Water and Watch It Grow: Lightly spray the garden with water daily. If using grass seeds, they should sprout within a week!
  7. Use It for Reflection: On Good Friday, place the stone in front of the tomb to represent Jesus’ burial. On Easter Sunday, roll the stone away as a reminder of His resurrection!

Join us for Easter Service at Landing Place Church on April 19th and April 20th

We invite your family, friends and loved ones to join us for our Easter Services! Our Easter service will include an inspiring Easter message, incredible live worship with our LPC worship band, and a special musical event by our kids and student ministries. We have five identical services for you to choose from. We want you to have the best experience celebrating Easter with us! We recommend making a reservation for the service you plan to attend using the links below. Here is the link to sign up: RSVP to Easter

Take a Family Photo

One of our favorite things to do after Easter Service is to invite our families to take photos in the Family Room. These will be taken by a professional photographer, and the digital copy will be available to you to download for free. Bring your family in their Easter attire!

We can’t wait to what the Lord has in store this Easter for you and your family. We look forward to celebrating with you on April 19th or April 20th!
